Thirty excited young male cricket players, between the ages of 11 to 15, are participating in an extraordinary cricket summer camp, from August 10- 14, organized by the Department of Sports, in partnership with Sun Island Clothes and Nagico Insurances, at the Conaree Cricket Grounds.

The COVID-19 pandemic threatened a forced cancellation of the annual Sam Nariani Cricket Camp but the stakeholders worked concertedly to ensure the young cricketers are given the opportunity to develop their skills.

Director of Sports Anthony Wiltshire praised the perseverance of the partners and the coaches at the Department of Sports for bringing the initiative to fruition, during a brief opening ceremony on August 11.

Mahesh Nariani, representing Sun Island Clothes, revealed that his company was prepared to invest in the youngsters locally and on the international stage, according to their skill levels.

Cricket Coordinator in the Department of Sports Keithly Esdaille expressed confidence in his support team to cultivate positive attributes within the youngsters over the weeklong camp.

Sun Island Clothes has sponsored the Cricket Summer Camp from 1995 and and it is the company’sintention to continue to be a major partner in the development of the sport in St. Kitts and Nevis.
