The league phase of the “A Blooming Touch” Primary School Girls Football Tournament, sponsored by The Cable, The Dreamy Group and Venom Football Twin Island Academy, began at Warner Park Stadium with goals, competitive football and several notable individual performances.
Presented by the Department of Sports under the theme “Building & Blooming Talent,” the sponsored tournament provides young players with opportunities to develop their football abilities, represent their schools and demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship.
Cayon Primary Defeats Deane Glasford
Cayon Primary recorded an 8–2 victory over Deane Glasford Primary.
Jorisha Rouse, wearing number seven, produced a prolific performance by scoring all eight goals for Cayon Primary.
Deane Glasford’s two goals were scored by Kazaiya Harris, wearing number 13.
Jorisha Rouse , number 7, was selected as Cayon Primary’s Player of the Match, while Kyleigh Maynard, number six, received the recognition for Deane Glasford Primary.
ICCS Edges George Moody Stuart
Immaculate Conception Catholic School secured a closely contested 2–1 victory over George Moody Stuart School.
Anaaya Mansukani, number five, and Jada Manning, number eight, each scored for ICCS.
Diesha Matthew, wearing number seven, scored George Moody Stuart’s goal.
Kennedi Kangalee, number 12, was recognised as ICCS’ Player of the Match. Trinity Esdaille-Robinson, number 10, received the Player of the Match recognition for George Moody Stuart.
Tyrrell Williams Records Victory Over Bronte Welsh
Tyrrell Williams Primary recorded a 3–0 victory over Bronte Welsh Primary.
Ciara James, wearing number 13, and Aljuneak Clarke, wearing number eight, were listed among the goalscorers for Tyrrell Williams. The third goal was recorded as an own goal by Bronte Welsh Primary.
James was also named Tyrrell Williams Primary’s Player of the Match.
Bronte Welsh goalkeeper Chevencia Liddie, wearing number one, received the Player of the Match recognition for the school.
