St. Kitts and Nevis has once again demonstrated its growing strength in regional basketball competition, with Team SKN winning the championship title at The Alliance: Hoops & Heritage – FIBA 3×3 Lite Quest, held in St. Eustatius from 12–15 June 2026.
Representing the Federation at the tournament were Cecil Angel, Makari Gumbs, Tyquan Rogers, and Daivique Osbourne, under the guidance of Coach/Manager Wendell Pemberton. The team produced a determined and disciplined performance throughout the competition, overcoming strong regional opposition on their way to the title.
Team SKN opened the tournament with a convincing 21–10 victory over St. Eustatius, before suffering a narrow 19–18 defeat to St. Maarten in one of the early rounds. The team responded well, earning a commanding 21–6 win against Saba to secure a place in the knockout stage.
In the quarterfinals, St. Kitts and Nevis defeated Anguilla 15–12 to progress to the semifinals, where they faced St. Eustatius’ top team in a closely contested encounter. Team SKN held its composure in a dramatic finish to secure a 20–19 victory, booking a place in the championship game.
In the final, Team SKN came up against a strong Suriname side. Rising to the occasion once again, the team delivered when it mattered most, earning a 16–13 victory to claim the championship trophy.
The title is another significant achievement for basketball in St. Kitts and Nevis and reflects the continued growth and development of 3×3 basketball within the Federation. It also serves as a proud moment for the national basketball community and for all supporters who continue to invest in the sport’s advancement.
